The Old Home PLace

I received a picture from Michigan from my sister which showed all that was left of the farm we grew up on. I was sad but decided to paint it. As I worked on the painting my mood changed because it brought back many many good memories. The barn is full of holes, sagging a bit but then that happens even to people, so I will enjoy this and may put it on Christmas cards for my family. Enjoy!!!
I also issued a challenge to the WWAO group to paint their home place. It has been accepted.

Update: I woke up at 2:30 this morning and knew I had forgotten something on my painting. I was right I forgot to high light trees, so I then did it. I decided to name it "Faded Memories".

New Look for home

I just completed a major project. I painted my home from one end to the other and top to bottom.. Took me a month and a bout with over doing it as well... I am happy with the results.. It went from 20 years of a dirty beige to all things bright and beautiful..The yellow is breakfast nook and kitchen and the green is living room and orange is dining room.. OK so I went drastic but I like it and I'm the one looking at it daily... Enjoy my labor of love!!!!

Happy Mother's day

For all the mothers I am wishing
That hubby did not choose to go fishing.
for this is our day
and home he will stay.
Or no meal on his plate will we be dishing!

Why do they change??

I'm adding 2 photos today, one of my Mums which were white when I planted them, and are now a rust color. I know we are in a drought here, or maybe they got sunburned.
The other is, depending on what part of the country you are in, a Beauty bush or Seatic Berry Bush. I started that in 1999 from a stem from the original bush that was at hubbies home place. It took three years to get it growing and on the 4th year a few berries. Hubby is so happy this year to see it lush and full.

Buying original art on the internet

I have been told people will not buy original art on the internet, because they would rather see it in person.

I believe it is the perfect way for people to be exposed to original art and view different art that is inspirational and not reproduced by a robot, such as seen in retail stores. Stop and think of the perfect pieces of art in the retail stores, and I will tell you, it is impossible to paint 1,000,000 paintings all exactly the same.

My heart and soul goes into each and every painting. I have been asked by many, "What is your style?" I can only reply, "My own unique style." I do not copy the old style, modern or old masters.
I paint what I see either in my dreams or what nature presents to me. I thank God for the creative powers He has instilled in me, and the original way He has allowed the paintings to flow from me.

I love nature and just recently I was informed the 88 acre farm where I raised, will be turned into a wild life preserve. My heart soared and needless to say, I am homesick, maybe in the spring I can go for a visit.
